A Little Dickens of a Treat
Charles Dickens was a big fan of Christmas. He wrote several short stories around the holiday and perhaps his most famous work the novella, A Christmas Carol. While that book remains a favorite, I found another one of his short works, a precursor to the turning of Ebeneezer Scrooge, to be equally enjoyable.
Its been titled a few different ways, The Sextant and the Goblins, The Goblins and the Gravedigger, The Story of the Goblins Who Stole a Sextant. It was originally publish in the Pickwick Papers in 1836 under the last title. Its a fun tale.
I’ve taken the liberty to record it with some foley work, music and whatnot. So for your listening pleasure, I am making it available here for you to listen, download and enjoy. I would encourage anyone who has an inclination to read for themselves too.
